ITR-1 and ITR-4 JSON Utility Form 10A for 12AB Registration Released on income-tax portal

The income tax e-filing portal has enabled the ITR Forms in ITR-1 and ITR-4 for filing of income tax returns and Form 10A required for registration under section 12 AB.

Recently CBDT has notified ITR forms ITR-1 to ITR-7 for the assessment year 2021-22.


No significant changes have been made in the notified ITR forms except as required to incorporate the changes made in the Income-tax Act by relevant Finance Acts. 



This time, JSON Utility for ITR-1 and ITR-4 for AY 21-22 is available on e-filing portal. Excel & Java version of ITR utilities will be discontinued from AY 21-22


The utility for other ITR forms will be enabled shortly. In JSON based ITR file, import of Prefill file is mandatory in utility


Form 10A is notified recently by the CBDT to enable trusts/NGOs to apply for migration of its registration to the new registration scheme as per section 12AB. Henceforth any application for registration of a trust shall be required to be made in form 10A. 


As per information on the e-filing portal, “New Form 10A is available for e-Filing for registration or provisional registration or intimation or approval or provisional approval”.


Earlier, MCA has also enabled the filing of Form CSR-1 on its portal for TRusts/NGOs intending to receive CSR funds from corporates.


Further, the same Form 10A is used for approval under section 80G and section 35 under Rules 2C or 11AA or 17A. Consequently Form 10G, 56, 3CF-I, 3CF-II and 3CF-III ceased to be effective on or after the 1st day of April, 2021.
