The National Faceless Assessment Centre, Delhi has issued two Orders on 29th June 2021 designating the new e-filing portal portal “www.incometax.gov.in” as the designated portal for the purpose of Faceless Assessment in terms of Explanation (i) to section 144B(1) of the Income-tax Act (Act) as well as for the purpose of Faceless Penalty in terms of sub-para(xi) of Para-2 of National Faceless Penalty Scheme, 2021 (Notification No. 2 of 2021) vide Order No. F. No. CIT (NaFAC)-1/2021-22/203 and Order No. F. No. CIT (NaFAC)-1/2021-22/204 respectively.
The income-tax department has launched the new e-filing portal on 7th June 2021. Hence, the new order is issued to designate the new portal as the designated portal for faceless assessment and faceless penalty schemes. The old portal with web address www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in is now replaced with the new e-filing portal www.incometax.gov.in.
The Order designating the new e-filing portal for Faceless Assessment reads as follows-

I am directed to hereby designate the web portal www.incometax.gov.in as the “designated portal” for the purpose of Faceless Assessment in terms of Explanation (i) to section 144B(1) of the Income-tax Act.
This issues with the approval of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income-tax (National Faceless Assessment Centre), New Delhi.
